What you need to know about volcanoes.

Our information is mostly for the people who live in Hawaii. A volcano is a natural surface vent from the mantel in the earth. Most volcanoes are in the shape of a cone like mountain. Volcanoes are made by divergent tectonic plates. Volcanoes are natural disasters because they are natural and they cause a lot of damage. When volcanoes erupt huge amounts of ash are released into the air and lava starts to come out of the volcanoes.

Hawaii has been effected many times. it still can be. Some still active volcanoes on Hawaii are Lodhi, Kilauea Mauna Loa and more.

You cant prevent a volcano but you can effect you less. You should always have water on hand. Some people built trenches around their house. When living in Hawaii you should have a disaster kit for everyone in your family. Some problems you may is that the magma could cause wild fires. So have a fire extinguisher and water.

We Choose Hawaii as our community because the land it self was a volcanoe. We also choose volcano as our to make our project because they are very harmful and are one of the reasons dinosaurs went extinct.
